Yorkshire Group Annual Study Weekend

Cober Hill, Scarborough
The Yorkshire Group of BFFS had another successful study weekend at Cober Hill, Scarborough on the 4th-6th December.
The main theme for the weekend of events was recent cinema from the Middle East – showcasing a wide range of innovative, entertaining and thought-provoking films from an area often underrepresented in Western cinemas.
Kicking off events was last year’s Oscar contender Waltz with Bashir, followed by an excellent selection of 27 films, chosen by Tony Davison and the Yorkshire Group, including:
- Turtles Can Fly (2004)
- The Yacoubian Building (2006)
- Jellyfish (2007)
- Lemon Tree (2008)
- Half Moon (2006)
Here’s to next year as the group once again start to plan for the 20th annual study event.
