- MPLC's exciting new Movie Licence has now added thousands more titles via their new Independent Producer List. MPLC can now offer films from the likes of Aardman Animations, Metrodome, Eros, Freemantle, and Focus Productions.

Click here for more details. - Plans to merge the British Film Institute with the UK Film Council were announced last month by Film Minister SiĆ“n Simon. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport are currently investigating the possibility and the proposed merger would aim to protect the key existing functions of both the BFI and UKFC while reducing gaps and overlaps. Tim Bevan, the new chairman of the UKFC said: “We know that the climate for public funding is going to get much tougher, and it’s therefore sensible that we ask ourselves why there are two publicly funded film organisations in the UK."
