Small Scale Equipment Grants

The Small Scale Cinema Equipment Fund is intended to assist public cinemas, community cinemas, film clubs and other similar bodies seeking to present a planned annual programme of screenings in non-metropolitan areas. Applications can be for projection and sound equipment or for other capital items directly involved in the presentation of cinema screenings at your venue. The Fund is intended to support Regional Screen Scotland's aim to increase and improve access to the cinema experience across Scotland.
There are two priorities:
- Filling gaps in provision: Support for organisations in areas which have not benefited significantly from recent capital funds administered by HI~Arts, Scottish Screen, or the UK Film Council.
- Raising cinemagoing quality: Support for organisations who aim to raise the quality of their cinema screening presentation through improvements such as better sound systems, better acoustics or lighting, poster displays, etc.
Grants are available up to a maximum of £5000 per organisation.
