Community cinema in action

In a series of focus pieces BFFS is pleased to offer film societies and community cinemas the opportunity to report on special events, educational activities, success stories and many other examples of cultural and community engagement. We hope that these pieces will provide a through the keyhole glimpse of community cinemas in action, illustrating the unique breadth and diversity of the community cinema sector as well as providing inspiration for other community cinema exhibitors.

Global Village Film Festival

From your Film Society to the far reaches of the world...Now in its 5th year, the presents a global tour of the best in world cinema, travelling from Canada to the Outback, from Ireland to India, as well as back in time to the silent era and into the far reaches of the imagination. With comedy and horror, drama and documentary, music and romance, this year’s festival had something for everyone.
